Effects

The ready-made animations. In the web editor they are the bars you add with + Effect; in a hologram file they are named by their id, with optional settings in brackets: spin(period=40)@icon.

Durations and periods are in ticks (20 ticks are 1 second), distances and heights in blocks, angles in degrees.

How effects combine

Effects on the same layer add up: positions and angles add, size and opacity multiply. A float and a bounce together go up and down more; a pop in over a heartbeat grows while it beats.

An effect that ends somewhere other than where it started, like pop out or fade out, holds its last frame: the layer stays hidden until another effect of the same kind (a pop in, a fade in) takes over. That is what lets a hologram stay hidden after a player walks away.

In the web editor

  • In Always, a repeating effect fills the whole row. Stretching it makes it slower; its settings choose how many times it repeats in the bar.
  • In the other moments, place the bar where it should happen; stretching changes how long it takes.
