Placeholders
{player}
Always available, nothing to install: it becomes the name of the player looking at the hologram.
<gray>Hello, <white>{player}</white>!%placeholders% from other plugins
With PlaceholderAPI installed, any placeholder of any plugin that supports it works: LuckPerms ranks, money from Vault, statistics, levels…
- Install PlaceholderAPI.
- Download the expansions you need, for example:
/papi ecloud download LuckPerms /papi ecloud download Vault /papi reload - Use them in the text:
<gray>Rank:</gray> %luckperms_prefix%
Where they work
| Where | Example |
|---|---|
| Text of a layer | <gold>Balance: %vault_eco_balance_formatted% |
| Text changes in a moment | the same, swapped in for one player |
| Chat messages and commands | [message] Your level: %player_level% |
| Who sees a hologram | visibility.condition: "%player_level% >= 10" |
| A trigger in the file | when: { placeholder: "%vault_eco_balance% < 100" } |
How often they update
Text is filled in again every update-interval ticks, per hologram (20 ticks = 1 second, the default). Set it to 0 for text that never changes, which costs nothing. In the web editor: Menu → Hologram settings.
Conditions and placeholder triggers are checked every placeholder-interval ticks, set in config.yml.
Colours from placeholders
Many placeholders return old colour codes, like &7[Member] or §c§lADMIN (rank prefixes do). HologramBB turns them into proper colours and closes them, so a rank's colour ends with the rank instead of colouring the rest of the line.
In the web editor
The preview cannot reach your server, so %placeholders% show as they are written. They are filled in in game. {player} shows as a sample name.
